FilZip v3.02
FilZip is an archiving tool, it can compress lots of files into a single manageable and smaller file or can uncompress files compressed in various formats. Most importantly, it can compress and uncompress zip and rar files and it does this for free!

You could buy WinZip and it's a great program but as far as I know it still does not uncompress rar files like FilZip does. RAR files are commonly used on the Vault to store modules, portraits and more as it can often compress files even smaller than zip files.

It adds itself into the context menu, so when you right click on a file you are given options on where to extract the files or compress them quickly with just one click.

IrfanView 3.97
IrfanView is a graphics viewer with a difference, it's totally free but can load virtually any image regardless of format (as well as swf files, sounds and movies), you can do batch tasks on groups of images, renaming the results if you want to and control a myriad of functionality.

The reason I mention it, is that IrfanView can save tga files (portrait files) in the way NWN likes them, this means you can create your portraits using an image editor of your choice, save them as bitmaps, then use IrfanView to save them in the tga file format ready to place in your portraits folder and use in game.

It's also good as a screen capture proggy.
